Dear Parents,
Wow! Last week was a busy one with art’s night, the science fair and the school play (for the participating older students). The students worked hard for the art’s night. They had 3 projects displayed from our classroom and some had more they did at home. McKenna did a super job playing a piano solo. It was an impressive evening.
Spring Break: There will be no school on April 4th, 5th, and 6th because of spring break. There will be no newsletter next week or spelling words. Reading parents won’t need to come next week because we won’t be doing reading centers. Please keep your child reading each day though. That is important. Have a fun Spring Break!
Easter Activity: Would you please send 2 uncooked eggs to school with your child on Monday? We are going to be blowing them out to use for an Easter project.
Spring Weather: The days are getting warmer which we are all very glad for. However, we all know that when the wind blows it can get very chilly. Will you please continue to send a jacket or coat with your child to school each day? We do go out to recess unless the weather is very bad.
Spelling: Watch for spelling words to come home today. The test will be on Thursday.
Science: We will continue our unit on animals this week by learning about reptiles, fish, and finishing amphibians.
Math: We will continue with shapes, and regrouping with addition and subtraction.
Reading Parents: We will have reading centers as usual this week. So, reading parents please come as usual.
However, because of the short week next week, we will not have reading centers so reading parents won’t need to come next week.
Items From Home: Just a reminder that students should not bring toys, balls, etc. from home to school to play with. This is the school policy.
Science Fair: The students who participated in the science fair did a wonderful job! I am very proud of them and appreciate your encouragement and help.
Peter Pan: Just a reminder that we will be walking to SUU on Friday morning to watch the production of Peter Pan. We’ll be back in time for lunch. Please have your child be on time that day so they don’t miss us as we’ll be leaving shortly after 9:00 a.m.
Parents, thank you so much for your continued support and help. I appreciate it.
Sincerely,
Brenda Haight
