Dear
Parents,
The
school year is almost over. I can’t
believe it. It sure has passed quickly
for me. We have had a super class this
year! I am very impressed with the
students. They worked hard and really
progressed academically. I hate to move
them on to 3rd grade.
Second Grade Program: The second grade classes will be performing
an end-of-the year program on Monday May 6th at 1:30. TODAY! You are invited to attend. It should last around 45 minutes.
Reading Parents: This is the last week that reading parents
need to come. I sure appreciate all
you’ve done throughout the year to help the students progress in their
reading. We will still have centers next week but our
daily schedule is getting chaotic for some days.
Spelling: Watch for spelling words to come home
today. The test will be on Thursday.
Homework: Watch for homework to come home on Wednesday.
Reading Celebration: Just a reminder that the PTA sponsored Reading
Celebration is happening next Monday May 20th.
Your child needs to return the purple reading sheets each week so that
we can mark reading completed. Our class
won the traveling pig trophy for being the class with the most minutes read
this past week in
K – 2. Congratulations to the students. It would be great to win the trophy
again,
Library: Just a reminder that all library books should
have been returned last week. Also, all
take-home library books should have been returned last week.
Field Day: Field day will be on Tuesday May 21st. Please have your child wear sunscreen. They may also wear a hat. We will be outside for most of the day.
Last Day of School: Friday May 24h is the last day of
school. School will be dismissed at 2:30
p.m.
Science: We will complete our unit on plants this week
and start on matter.
Birthdays: We will celebrate Ezra,s birthday Monday May 6th.
Thanks
once again for all that do to make our class so wonderful.
Sincerely,
Brenda
Haight
