Dear Parents,

Greetings! I am looking forward to meeting with you and your child this week for our S.E.P. Conference. School will be dismissed each day this week at 2:30 (even Wednesday).

Spelling: The spelling words for this week are homonyms. The students will need to know how to spell the words as well as the different meanings. The words are:
to, too, two, be, bee, for, four,
are, our, knot, not, one, and won.

Math: Regrouping with addition is a big concept for the students to learn. They are doing great with it. We will continue with this concept, work with time, and review the skills learned so far.

Social Studies: We will finish our unit on maps this week.

Language: We will work with nouns this week.

Science Fair: The school science fair will be on Friday March 25h. Mark this date on your calendar. Information packets were sent home last Monday with those who are participating. If you have any questions, please contact me.

PTA Book fair: The book fair is being held this week in the gym. Science Fair boards can be purchased in the gym during the Book Fair as well for $5.00.

Spring Pictures: Spring pictures will be taken on Tuesday March 15th. These pictures will be prepay this year – meaning pictures will only be taken of those students who return their packet and money. A flier went home last week, one will go home tomorrow and the packets will be sent home later as well. Keep watching for information to come home about them.

Kindergarten registration will be on Wednesday March 16th.

Teacher Requests: Mr. Oldroyd will be accepting requests for 2011-12 teachers at the end of this month. (Wow, I can’t believe it’s that time of year already.) The requests all need to be submitted
on-line this year . Follow the instructions on the school website for more information.
